Swanage Conservation area

PDC is seeking comments on the Conservation area in Swanage (until 21st December). There are leaflets at the library (in the hall, downstairs — look carefully) and more information is available at: http://www.purbeck-dc.gov.uk/default.aspx?page=10431

So if you have any views about preserving the character of our town, have your say.

  1. What is the point of extending the conservation area when it's not policed now? PDC couldn’t care less. Take a look at the plastic windows around the Mill Pond, the ugly service pipes on the Royal Vic Hotel and the modern shop front on the ancient Fisherman's catch building. Why are we always so badly let down by the planners?

  2. New policies are on there way and will be informed by our opinion - get there and make your voice known.

  7. I see the Purbeck Hotel has applied to become 7 appartments and two shops. This should improve the conservation area visually, but is it right to have no car parking for the new units? Could not some of the land at the back be used as car parking underneath?

  12. The link should be http://www.purbeck-dc.gov.uk/default.aspx?page=10431
the 1 on the end was missing from the last link.

  13. This is getting silly. The 1 vanished from the link again. Paste it in as it is and add a 1.

  14. It's actually 31.

If you leave out the http://

Then it might show and most browsers can work out the lack of http://

    Let's try!

  15. I've heard rumours about HH for over a year now.

    Fuelled by strong £, mebbie?

  16. I'm confused... the url I've put in the original post is the same as you give above. It's working on my computer. Is it not for others?

  17. No, fuelled by lack of anyone to carry on after the owner retires. Big negative knock on effect for Swanage.

  18. Your link is fine, but goes off the edge of the page. If people don't select it from left to right and scroll over the edge of the page then they won't select the 31 on the end.

If you leave out the http:// bit, then we can see the whole link.

HH are still advertising up until the end of 2008 - does anyone know more?
