Bar Se7en

BAR SE7EN - formerly Victoria Club

Following a superb refurbishment to Bar Se7en at Number One Swanage High Street, the Sunday music sessions are set to start again soon.

The question is: what is the best time for them to be on, so that most people can come to enjoy them?

During 2009 the Sunday times were 5pm to 8pm; would people prefer 6pm to 9pm? or even a completely different time?

  1. So Steve have you shares in Bar7 you seem to harp on about it.

Or is it because you have a free venue?

  3. Angling for a free advert, are we? Wouldn't go there if you paid me, Steve.

    You've blown your credibility, Steve.

  7. There are always people who will do absolutely nothing for anyone else or for the community and who sneer at anyone who does. Anything not motivated by self-interest is totally beyond their tiny minds.

Getting back to the original question, 2-5 would be good for us old fogies who still have to think about work the next day and want to be home for Sunday dinner + it will remind me of my relative youth when the Club did afternoon music sessions!

  10. To the person making adverse comments:

No, I don't own shares in Bar Se7en - or anywhere else for that matter. But I did give every Sunday of my life for over a year to try to make it a good, fun live music venue where everybody was welcome.

I don't understand what you mean by "a free venue". Michael and Nathan gave up their Sunday afternoons off, and encouraged us to put music on there. It was free admission to the public, sure, and on many occasions they were selling beer, cider and lager for only £2 a pint, which is certainly cheap.

As for me, I can assure you that I spend more on equipment and maintenance in a year than I earn from playing music.

No, I'm not angling for a free advert, I'm asking people what time they would like the music sessions to be.

No, I'm not offering to pay you to go there, but when it starts again you're welcome to come along for free. Go on, you might even enjoy it!

  14. .........and double parked cars on double yellow lines parking outside.

It's interesting that the traffic wardens don't go down that way.

    Yes they do.

  18. theres some confused people here unless either the traffic wardens are coming to the gigs or they are the name of a band. Really nothing to do with start times anyway?

  19. OK. Here's my vote.

No start. No music on Sunday.

Keep the racket down. People live there, you know. We can put up with Friday and Saturday nights, but please not Sundays.

  20. Steve, I thought the 5pm start time was just right and certainly during the summer. Perhaps during the winter months early afternoon would be better...

  21. No music on Sundays?

Probably want to get rid of these tourists, ban the carnival and the summer fireworks as well.

    Flippin' killjoy
