The developers' appeal against PDC's rejection of their plans for Seacourt have been dismissed.
Primarily, apparently, on grounds of how the building woudl affect the privacy and quality fo life of the people opposite. Congratulations to all involved.
Anyone want to buy a grand old building with a large garden in the heart of Swanage? Someone might be open to offers.

Key development controls reforms to take effect
Key changes to the development control system designed to speed up planning and reduce uncertainty will come into force on 24 August, the government has signalled.
The measures, which include greater powers for planning authorities to cold shoulder repeat planning applications and the move to a three-year life for permissions and consents, are set out in the Planning and Compulsory Purchase Act 2004.
The dismissal of the appeal makes the Planning Officers who supported the scheme look very foolish. What a waste of everyones time and effort.
In view of the costs awarded to the developer of Sea Court at appeal, will the officers or committee members responsible for opposing the application on grounds for which they had no evidence resign or pay up themselves please?
Surely as a gesture of goodwill the developer should waive the costs?
