The monthly meeting of Swanage Town Council is on Monday 29 January, at the Town Hall. If you have something to say,Public Participation begins at 7pm.
Yes, of course they do. But if people can't be bothered to say anything (except to each other in the pub or on a forum like this) then they can't expect to be heard, can they...? If you don't try ...
im afraid its try try and try again then its so painfull you give up, and yes been there done that got the T shirt etc etc, perhaps the samaritans should have an office next to the council chambers.
The fact is that democracy only works as far as people are prepared to contribute to it.
I value living in a country where this is my right and have also been to the local council meetings. Nothing is perfect BUT if you don't use the opportunities that you have to express your points of view then they will not be heard by the people that you want to hear them.
sorry have you missed the plot? I have been expressed views at meetings and on a 1 to 1 basis but for it to be a democracy they have got to listen or at least hear. they do NOT but hey its election time soon and that means we can all express our democracy.
its funny when people who are on the outside on issues over planning/councils etc say take a chill pill unless you have had lots of problems with them its easy to say, if not its very stressfull long winded and lots of times without rhyme or reason. to the point that you feel you might as well give up. during every day life im chilled when dealing with SWTC PDC and the planning thats different.
Hi it's 12.52 again and you do have my sympathies BUT I have been there and do know just how frustrating it all is. However chilling is still the only sensible way forward whoever/whatever you are..........it's only money!

and the point of public time is?
Well, sometimes people have ideas they want to suggest or problems they want sorted out. This is an opportunity to say what's on your mind.
and you really think any of them take any notice of what is suggested or asked (except of course near election time).
Yes, of course they do.
