Library (reduced service)
Dorset County Council is seeking feedback on its proposal to further reduce the hours the library is open (from 37 to 30 hours). So if you value the service, visit the library and complete a questionnaire. Or you can have your say at www.dorsetforyou.com/libraryconsultation.

Couldn't they do something profit making at the library to subsidise themelves?
If they built a flat above each library and rented it out...
Apart from chipping away at the service, I have heard that on Thursday afternoons the library is already funded by Adult Education groups (and wants the remaining time to be dedicated to Youth groups), so there is no need for DCC to fund those hours — which would mean it could instead stay open lunchtimes, or perhaps longer on Saturday afternoon.
