Sale of Swanage's Family Silver -
Swanage Bay View Holiday Park - has been sold!
According to Fox Leisure, the firm handling the sale of SBV, the park is now listed as Sold. The identity of the new owner(s) is unknown at this time, as is the timetable for completion of the sale, but the betting is on Shorefields who own the park next door.
Let's hope the Town Council has done something that will benefit Swanage well into the future, as well as the caravan owners who comprise the largest portion of tourists visiting and contributing to the coffers of Swanage. Let's keep our fingers crossed that the Vista's amenities remain available (albeit on a commercial basis) to the town's residents and visitors.
STC has conducted this process without any consultation with the Owners at the Park, or Residents of Swanage, both of whom are major stakeholders in SBV, so any successes or failures in this transaction must be credited to, or blamed on, them alone.

If you check your facts it is sale agreed on http://www.foxleisure.co.uk/detail.asp?id=181, not sold yet!
My understanding is that the sale is not complete but that an offer has been accepted subject to agreement after due diligence by both parties is completed. Perhaps it should read 'Sale Agreed subject to contract.' Other Fox Leisure properties use the term 'Sale Pending'. It is all semantics. The Park has been sold unless there is a 'slip between cup and lip' [Cato the Elder in Aulus Gellius Noctes Atticae xiii. xviii.]

I was told several weeks ago that the new owners will be in by the end of July
The minutes of the Town Council dated 6th July http://www.swanage.gov.uk/pdf/meetings/minutes-july_2009.pdf indicate a further delay of 14 days for due diligence, pushing the signing date back to mid-September and completion within 30 days, but things could happen sooner or be extended further into the future.
