A five-week A351 closure will be imposed 24-hours-a-day between the Baker’s Arms and Holton Heath roundabouts, forcing traffic to make a lengthy detour through Sandford, across Wareham Forest’s B3075 and back onto the A35.
The closure comes into force on September 19.

I wouldn't say it's a "lengthy delay". I always take this route in rush hour: reckon it's quicker and more pleasant (though dodgy turning on to the A35 before Morden).
5 weeks to do what any other country can do in a week !!!!!!!! and yes I have seen this done in France !! Too much leaning on spades me thinks......
No doubt many days will be wasted over 'Health and Safety' concerns.
Just wait until a rare lizard is discovered!
I would guess that it's up to 5 weeks; and I agree with the postman, I always go thru the forest.
Where did the Sandford Bye Pass go?
Send in Top Gear to do this;)
Remember, folks, you can buy a book of ten tickets for the ferry at a discount. Just roll up to the till both and fork over cash and its yours (no cheques or debit cards). I believe you save 65p each journey.
That is, unless the ferry decides to have its annual refit during the closure of the A351!!!!!
