If you want to raise a new topic, post your comment here — just click
first on Comments below, then type in 'Post a comment' (top right of the
next window). Can you choose a title for your post, please? Sometimes
it's hard to work out what a comment is about and what the subject is. A
new heading will soon be set up, allowing others to see and add their
own comments. We try to keep posts civilized. And any
posts that become too provocative, insulting, threatening or
otherwise unpleasant will be deleted.
Please note that the moderator may exercise editorial control, to
limit posts to subjects likely to be of interest to the majority of
people, so not every topic will be posted (there's always the
'Chit-chat' topic for miscellaneous issues/observations), and please use
an existing thread to debate issues.

What on earth was wrong with the deleted comments? Nothing insulting or objectionable in them so far as I can recall. Why have they been censored? Who is doing this? If a statue in Ilfracoombe can make the national press having something here is of interest to all of us.
Who is the moderator?
Comments deleted because 1/ subject matter not considered of interest to this blog (by the moderator) and b/ comment placed here rather than under appropriate subject heading. Please read the notes above. Not every subject will be posted. And please don't use the 'New subject' heading for debate: that just means people have to wade through chit chat to post a meaningful suggestion. Sorry if you don't like the way I run this, but it takes enough of my time already without time-wasters. I really do try not to censor things, but can't post everything if the blog is to remain useful to the majority. You could always start your own if you don't like my editorial position.
Try reading the text top right...I'm the moderator, Mike Hadley
X43 BUS SERVICE FROM SWANAGE TO WEYMOUTH.
Yet again Dorset County Council has only given 16 days notice that Damory will be running the X43 bus service in their Traveltimes brochure. It is impossible to organise walks and visits without more notice. Is it time that the Council and the bus companies improved their communication?
X43 BUS SERVICE FROM SWANAGE TO WEYMOUTH
Dsmory will have had to register this route with the Traffic Commissioner - this requires 56 days notice. DCC have clearly failed here and I agree with Robin. Short notice is unacceptable for these summer only routes - and after all the X43 will be funded through the county council. Hope loads of people use it - and not just the freebies with their bus passes....
PLOUGHMANS LUNCHES IN PURBECK.
The price of a ploughmans lunch varies from £2.50 at the Co-op to £9.50 at Seventhwave. £9.50 is also the highest price for a ploughmans lunch in Yorkshire. What do you think is a reasonable price to pay for a ploughmans lunch and where can you get one for that price?
1/ subject matter not considered of interest to this blog (by the moderator)
Shouldn't that be up to us to decide? If a topic generates debate it is of interest, if it doesn't then delete it.
TELEPHONE OUTAGE
Does anyone know the cause of the current loss of service, or how many phones are down. BT say it is a problem at the exchange. Ours is down and we know of several others nearby. BT told one user that service will not be restored until the 13th! This is pretty horrific for small businesses that rely on the phone system to handle card payments.
Knowing where you were would be a help. I know that some people in Ulwell had problems this morning.
Who would I have to email about the dismal state of the football pitches at King Georges?
There are probably 20 lads who like to get together for a kick - a -bout a few evenings a week but I've been noticing the pitches are unkept, grass is long, and pitches full of divots and holes.
Re King George's...contact the Town Council: admin@swanage.gov.uk or phone them on 423636
