Do we have to pay 2 quid to park to see this?
DCC could raise the rate of Council Tax if you prefer. Either walk to Durlston, which might do you good, or share a car with three others and pay 50p each towards Durlston's upkeep.
they have to do something with the castle lest it becomes a bit of a white elephant, notwithstanding the fantastic work carried out in the restoration. It would be interesting to understand how much more the castle costs to run than the previous visitor centre - considerably more I imagine. At a time of austerity. What price a new school for Swanage.
I was really annoyed that the Castle was restored, because I wanted to complain when it fell down
To live on the doorstep of this building and the surrounding scenery is a privledge.Great to see it being used for something like this which will be of interest to some of us locals.
I think it's great. Also, if you become a Friend of Durlston then parking is only 50p for the hour or £2 all day in summer and £1 all day in winter.
pity you can't become a friend of the Coop
Pity that people can't seem to post postive things about a great asset to our town. I think it's a great thing what has happened to the castle. And wish everyone who has put in the hard work all the best for the future .
