Pier Head Plans

Planning application was rejected ("over-developed" "some concerns with architectural detailing"), but an appeal was made and a site meeting will take place on Thursday 21st October at 9.30 am and last about 50 minutes. I understand that comments from neighbours and local residents can be made at this meeting.

  1. Note from Nick Storer

Under intense pressure from the Planning Officers the Planning Board turned down permission to redevelop the Pier Head on 27th October 2004.
During the proceedings the development was likened to the Bournemouth IMAX. Planning Officers described the site meeting as "orchestrated" and questioned the "presentation of the detail". Hardly a voice was raised in support and no Councillor proposed or voted for the scheme.

  2. Remember, since Jan 1, under the FOI Act,anyone can ask to see any recorded info held by any public body. So, thats the Purbeck Transportation Study, Pierhead, beach, jetty, old Grammar school plans, parking enforcement etc.etc. Everyone concerned about any of the above or, anything else should take full advantage.
They have 20 days to cough up.
