New Subject
If you want to raise a new topic, post your comment in this section — just click first on Comments (below any posts under this subject), then on Post a comment (bottom left of the next window). Can you choose a title for your post, please? Sometimes it's hard to work out what a comment is about and what the subject is. A new heading will soon be set up, allowing others to see and add their own comments. It seems it's sometimes easier to click on 'Post anonymously' than to open an account in your name - you can always add your name to your message. We try to keep posts civilized.

What's the South of France got that Swanage hasn't?
I don't know, what's the south of france got that swanage hasn't?
This forum is not as busy as it used to be. Perhaps it's because new posts take so long to appear?
Advertising uses many forms of communication to persuade people to buy particular goods and services. In Swanage itself, there is the Swanage Advertiser, Purbeck Gazette, Dorset Echo, local Radio and TV, the carnival programme, websites, flyers, inserts, posters... the list goes on.
But they are all designed to persuade people who are already in the area.
Who is advertising Swanage itself? and what forms of advertising are being used to attract people into the town?
That begs the question of who should be doing the advertising and paying for it. The two thirds of council tax payers who are not involved in tourism might have something to say if it was their money. Actually the research shows that far more people et information about the area from the web than from print sources and the need is for a really good website.
What would a really good website have on it that Virtual Swanage, for example, doesn't have?
What's all this got to do with S'ern France?
Can you please give titles to New Subjects. It seems that increasingly obscure comments are being made and it's hard to know whether they refer to a genuine Post or are just someone having a stream of consciousness moment.
