The stillness of the Swanage - Sandbanks Ferry road will be wonderful !! (With apologies to those who use it daily)

The dunes at Studland will be free of the noodist meercats that saunter over from their lairs in Boscombe to show the world what they haven't got.

Me wife and I can walk the beach unmolested. Best time of the year.

We should be honoured to have what is undoubtedly the most expensive transport in the world, at circa £19.20 per mile. (1,000 feet =£3.20 x 6).

If Wilts & Dorset charged the same rate, e.g; £211.20 from Swanage to Wareham ? What value the bus pass then??

RobO-

Aren't you comparing apples and oranges?

With a bus pass, crossing over the ferry on W&D costs nothing!

Wow! Does that mean there will be no megga housing developments.

Should we give The Ferryman a brown envelope to stall the ferry for a few years whilst we work on being truly sustainable and self sufficient.

Oh what bliss 'Let's keep Purbeck Special'

So this has brought out the true feelings of us Swanage folk. Wouldnt it be wonderful to stop the ferry, go back in time to a quiet life here in Purbeck. But....hang on a moment....what about the jobs in tourism, the supermarkets that might close, the millions £ taken by the National Trust at Studland etc? Damn it, were going to have to carry on with the ferry...
