Have many of the roads in Swanage been gritted in this cold weather. Tonight the high street, Victoria Avenue and the sea front had been gritted but roads like Priests Road, Townsend Road, and lots of smaller side streets are just covered in ice and slush.
Please can you post your road or any you have seen which have or havent been gritted as replies and then we can all see where the council are failing to keep the roads safe.

The main routes into, around, up to the hosptal, and out of Swanage have been thoroughly gritted.
Thanks go to PDC, I wonder how much our Council Tax would have to go up to grit all the others?
I was pleasantly surprised to find that when I walked to town today many of pavements were gritted as well.
Thanks go to, I guess, STC.
This morning (weds) all the steep roads in Swanage were thick with ice, none of the pavements on school routes were gritted, i had lots of neighbours who couldn't get to work as there cars were stuck on the hills BUT the Town Hall car park was thick with grit and the pavements around the Town Hall nicely done. It was a popular topic around town this morning - but everyone seems to expect the Town Council to look after itself first, the people later.
Surely any organisation is entitled to grit the area outside its own premises? Just because soemone can be bothered to get off their backsides shouldn't be grounds for criticism.I wonder if the Hospital cleared their area. Or the Police. Or Travis Perkins? And I bet Anon of 5.48 would the first to complain and blame the council if someone slipped outside the Town Hall.
Simply not true.
Um, whatsitcalled, the lane from the Ambo station to the Youth Club, which includes the Catholic School was gritted, I wonder why they gritted Station Rd pavements? and around the Health Centre.
The High Street, right past the Middle School was gritted, Queens Rd. right past Swanage First was gritted - now of course Mount Scar itself may not have been gritted - consider this - 'THEY'VE RECKED MY CAR _ IT'S GUNNA COST FOUSANDS TO REPAIR - sorry - REPARE!
Now please remember the other headline - TOO MANY KIDS ARE DRIVUN TO SKOOL - THEY SHOULD WARK - THEIR - not 'there' - TWO FAT!
Hey, c'mon now, they may be twins.
Sorry I was replying to 5.48 and tend to agree with 6.51 - but hey ho!
'Thanks go to PDC, I wonder how much our Council Tax would have to go up to grit all the others?'
Its not thanks to PDC or STC, its DCC that look after the roads and pavements. Helpful and polite DCC chap answered the phone, but says the real problem is that DCC do not have the funding to employ or provide enough grit!
No grit in many of the side roads or pavements, people are stranded in their houses in some places.
If the council (DCC) could do a grit drop at the end of each side road, we could sort it out ourselves, but we are stranded and cannot get out !
