No. Not yet.

Do something to support a local enterprise - buy a copy. This is not some meaningless lifestyle glossy from a faceless international publishing company, it is about this area and is written by people in this area.

Don't live in the Purbecks now, so is there a way of getting hold of a copy?

I'm confused.I presume this isn't the glossy magazine Purbeck Life that appeared a few months ago, because that's free and in the latest issue recommends New Zealand lamb for your lamb burgers. So what is it and how much does it cost and is it just about local art?

Purbeck Life is produced by the Echo group and seems to have nothing at all relevant to Purbeck in it. I suspect they have put it out to hoover up some ofthe advertising that goes to Dorset Life and Dorset magazines. Purbeck! is independently produced with only local content. Their office number is 01929 424064. If you are not down here call them and ask about getting it posted. The cover price is £3.80.

nobody is going to pay £3.80 for a mag? get some adverts and make it free!

Why don't you put this idea to the editor?

Someone once said that anything worth having is worth paying for. Do you really never pay for a magazine?? Who do you think buys all the mags on the newsagents' shelves? And even with ads, they need to charge to cover costs. The editor has worked very hard to produce PURBECK!, and has no guarantee of recovering his costs. If you like the look of it buy it. Hey, why not also buy one for a friend who loves Purbeck and send them a copy?

!!! Its not a freebie sort of mag, its packed full of interesting local stuff. Well done and congratulations for keeping going with this one, worth the wait and let us all know when you are collecting articles for the next edition.

Hoorah!!

I've just seen a friends copy and it's good.

A smokehouse in Church Knowle - didn't know that.

A possible paleolthic axe - fascinating - it'd be only the second (mebbie third) to have been found this side of the hills.

I've known about Tom's stone for years, but it was great to get the background story.

Fascinated to know what'll be in the next one.

Bought it, read it, liked it.

Drove to Swanage today and have a copy!

Looks good, have yet to read it properly.

Had a dip into it and it looks good. Far from competing with existing magazines I think it compliments existing coverage.

Purbeck! has a vibe and energy about it - something I hope they manage to sustain.

Marketing it will be the key. It's not available from newsagents and unless you know where to buy it, you won't.

Visitors to Swanage that are looking for a 'local' mag are more likely to try a newsagent/supermarket - but because of how it's published, Purbeck! won't be there.

An awesome magazine and such a good read too. It's almost like a book and the price is not to steep. Well wort every penny. Love the section with the guys who use wind to fuel there kicks by Simon Henville and David Furmage. Do by any chance do these guys teach their sports? If so what a great chance for your local council or local youth club tap into this and give people of swanage or shall I say the purbeck to enjoy a sport powered just by wind!
