NEW SUBJECT

If you want to raise a new topic, post your comment here — just click first on Comments below, then type in post a comment (top right of the next window). Can you choose a title for your post, please? Sometimes it's hard to work out what a comment is about and what the subject is. A new heading will soon be set up, allowing others to see and add their own comments. It seems it's sometimes easier to click on 'Post anonymously' than to open an account in your name - you can always add your name to your message. We try to keep posts civilized. And any posts that become too provocative, insulting, threatening or otherwise unpleasant will be deleted.

SWANAGE FORUM

Does anyone know what has happened to the Swanage Forum

Virtual Swanage said...

The one on virtual swanage closed a few years ago after constant abuse by trolls

I understand there is a Swanage forum, but it's off the grid so to speak :-)

It became the Dorset forum and has now folded, or gone underground!

VOLUNTEER SHOP ASSISTANT REQUIRED
5PM ~ 9PM
VARIOUS DAYS AVAILABLE TO SUIT YOU

Swanage Pier is a magical place to be on a summers evening and we would love to be able to keep the pier and the shop open for longer during the warmer months'. But at the moment we don't have enough volunteers to make this possible. We need more help and would love to hear from anyone who would like to spend a couple of hours on a summers evening chatting to customers, helping to serve simple refreshments or perhaps standing on the gate taking the evening toll fees. To get involved please phone our lovely shop Manager Kathy on 01929 425806
Or call into the shop for a chat with one of our friendly volunteers
Or you can find out more by visiting www.swanagepier.com
or send me an email office@swanagepiertrust.com

0300 LICENSE EXTENSION for the RAINBOW KEBAB on Lower High Street, (Lower High Street should be re-named ‘High High Street’ for the amount of alcohol licenses already there, when a drunk falls over he/she is still within reach of another drink!).

The two police officers on duty for Purbeck over night, if they come to Swanage and were to arrest one of the hundreds of riotous drunks the nearest custody suites are either Poole or Dorchester thereby taking up half their shift processing them ‘within their Human Rights’, (what of the Rights of Swanage Council Tax payers and residents ?) Why not have ‘holding suites/cells’ at Swanage Police Station, (if it is still there) and transport them in bulk to Poole for processing, or better still don’t grant anymore alcohol licenses or renew existing ones.

Swanage Resident.

If you agree then post a blog or better still write with your complaint to:-

LICENSING OFFICER.
CLARE STRATFORD.
PCD WESTPORT HOUSE,
WORGRET ROAD,
WAREHAM, BH20 4PPP

Or email; licensing@purbeck-dc.gov.uk

NOT LATER THAN THE 28th JULY 2011.

With the new WHsmiths set to open in Swanage, has anyone heard who is actually going to open the store?

I was told it was a well known celebrity, but NOT Mr J.Ross.

Friends of the Mowlem

Update - about 60 people attended the recent 'special' meeting. Many new faces. It was lively and positive. Everyone agreed that the one aim in common is to support and encourage the Mowlem to thrive and succeed for the Community of Swanage. Following the meeting there was an opportunity for refreshments and informal networkikng. Many skills were offered: Catering, hospitality, networking, marketing, Interior design, music, public relations, design consultancy, education, web design, journalism, business, graphic design. It was suggested that another meeting of the friends, trustees and community together should be arrangd soon.

It would also be great to encourage the younger people to the next meeting so that their voices and ideas can be heard too.

Watch this space! Please people don't waste time, on here with negative responses, life is too short.
