Durlston Castle open again
Durlston Castle is now open, after its £5.2 million refurbishment. I understand the restaurant won't open until w/c 28 November. (And the main car park is open.) Durslton website says (at 19/11) that the seventhwave cafe and restaurant will open on Friday 25th November at 10 am, but if you're planning a visit and want to check, contact them direct on info@7eventhwave.com

why open before they are finished?
Will there be no car park, staff training, cafe, disabled access?
Perhaps I mean why again isn't it finished by the dealine? There is an army of people working up there, and £5.5M seems a hell of a lot to spend on a restoration. I hope it's very splendid!
Let's hope it meets your high expectations, Nick.
Bodacious!
Can't wait to visit swanage next summer and go to the castle again. I have good memories of spending time there in the 60s before it all went down hill.
Can't quite imagine what they have done for £5.5m - must be very grand.
It's absolutely great!
truly awesome!
Awesome is correct. The accessway and wheelchair ramp from the carpark must have cost an awsomely bodacious truly grand sum of money. And for something totally unnecessary. What was wrong with the existing access road with nothing more than maybe a tidied and planted verge added? Don't you praisemongers realise that this money had to come from somewhere - you, and that there may have been better features or facilities at the castle to spend it on than this and a number of other truly awsomely boadacious and grand trivialities.
