Most interesting. Everybody should listen to this. Apparently a national map showing the places with a high score for deprivation consists of the major cities, as expected but also of a ring of coastal towns all around the country! They found that the economic, social and demographic problems of all the coastal towns were pretty much the same, although of course the severity varies.
It was interesting to hear how Folkstone has embarked on a policy of regeneration though the arts, a policy we can and should emulate here. It has certainly worked in StIves.
