Is there any information about how it went? The only person I know who contemplated going phoned up to ask what was being performed and could not find out. There was nothing on their website apart from the names of performers most of which seemed to be comedy acts if the silly names are any guide. Very strange and a bit like a restaurant that gives you the bill before you see the menu.
Way overpriced for a festival that makes no sense, except for those who think Britain's Got Talent and Classic FM are wonderful.
I went to Tanglewood (Boston Symphony Orchestra and Chorus' summer home in the Berkshires, Massachusetts - the 'real' BSO, by the way) last weekend, a proper classical music concert. 10,000 people there, and this happens every weekend and often mid-week from June through September.
My ticket: $11. (less than eight pounds). Go figure why one is successful, and the other is a flop.
Having a three day festival of crossover acts is an interesting idea but plugging it as classical music verges on miss-description. Unfortunately this seems to be how things are done nowadays. Take a look at what was on offer for the Kenwood lakeside concerts this year. Instead of the lighter end of the normal orchestral repertoire drifting gently across the water there was much the same selection of talent show stars as at Serenata belting it out through the PA system..

Actually it looks quite empty in that photo. People pay to hire one of those teepees? I wonder how many tickets were sold?

I doubt this will happen next year.
