Further to my request to attend a council meeting in my wheelchair, may I thank Swanage Town Council for arranging the next meeting where I can get to it. It is also an opportunity for anybody else who has limited mobility and can't get up those Town Hall steps, to see what a meeting is like!SWANAGE TOWN COUNCILThe nextCOUNCIL MEETINGwill be held at theSWANAGE BAY VIEW HOLIDAY PARK, PANORAMA ROAD onMONDAY30th October 2006at7.15 p.m.The Meeting will be preceded by PUBLIC PARTICIPATION TIMEwhich will commenceat7.00 p.m.

The last time I was at a meeting in the old vista bar I couldn't hear a thing of what was being said. Hope the council has done something about that. At least the council chamber at the town hall now has some kind of a sound system which helps those of us who are hard of hearing know what is being talked about. It's a bit of a break with tradition isn't it to move from the town hall. A good number of those of us who fairly regularly attend the town council meeting do so by walking to the town hall. To hold the meeting out at the municipal caravan park makes that rather more difficult to do for a number of people. It is not a very sensible idea is it.
makes it a lot easier for some.
damn, just remembered, I live in Durlston
National Disasters.
Wembly - for the uninitiated, where England used to, and may once again play their (idea of) football.
Since Wembly is being redeveloped our national team now get to play all around the country, and the braying hoards - sorry, committed football fans from all around the country get to see their representitives, uh, perform.
correct me if i am wrong but the meeting is to be held at the caravan park so those with acces problems can get in thats the whole bloody point is it not tough luck on those who can WALK to the high street after all there is cars and taxis.
Just read the Noddy post.
There's a post there that should be here.
The poster has asked for it to be moved - no offence meant Nick.
Basically he seems to want us to storm the Bastille, and establish a republic.
NO.
That's not true.
Thanks to the change of venue, I was able to attend the council meeting. It was interesting and open. I'm glad I attended and thank them for it.
