I see that the shattered stone pavement outside The Ship is being replaced today (1 Feb 2010) — and with Purbeck stone too, it seems. I asked for this (and other pavements in Swanage) to be repaired years ago. Wonder how long this will last?

Have you been away on holiday? The work has been going on for a couple of weeks, and they are putting in bollards so the beer deliverers to the Ship will no longer be able to park on the pavement and break the paving stones.
How about bollards along Institue Road, the lorries have to go up on the pavement due to the parking on the other side - an accident waiting to happen.

Good to see something being done by STC.
It'd better be proper Purbeck stone!
I cannot believe how long it is taking them just to repair that little area
