Bay View Caravan Park

Is the Council about to announce the sale of Swanage Bay View Holiday Park? There was an extraordinary meeting of the Town Council on Aug. 10th to discuss changes to the contract....has the deal reached its conclusion? What will it provide for the people of Swanage?

"If you check your facts it is sale agreed

not sold yet"!

That's how we started this conversation last time, and there's been no change since!

But to whom.....and under what terms....and how will it benefit Swanage?

Well, that was part of the point of my reply.

What resonsibility do the Council have to keep us informed?

What responsibility do we have to find out?

Have you popped into the Town Hall and asked? I haven't.

I see a further extraordinary meeting of STC is taking place on Monday solely to deal with more contractual issues.

Look for smoke from the chimney of Swanage Town Hall soon!

The Town Hall will give no information out about this.

And yes, I have enquired.

Errm...I would have thought that the sale of the caravan park is important to Swanage rate payers. Come on people take an interest - it is the town's biggest asset that's being flogged off. And I think the Council has a duty to keep the rate payers informed about this. Once the dickering is over and the ink has dried they should tell us what they've done. Maybe the rates will come down (fat chance!).
