Swanage mugging

Police comment on swanageonline:
This was an attempted handbag snatch in Commercial Road at approx 8.40a.m on 17th Jan, which is a highly unusual occurrence in Swanage. I entirely agree that this was a disgusting act and we would be interested to hear if the following description rings any bells:

Male, white, 5'7" - 5'10" tall, thin build, aged late teens to early 20's, long straggly auburn hair, auburn facial stubble, sallow sunken skin, yellow nicotine stained fingers, wearing blue jeans and black hooded jacket. He also smelt musty/unclean.

If anybody has any ideas or witnessed any of the events that morning (he ran from Commercial Rd into Station Rd), then please contact us on the usual numbers [01929 422004 or 0120 - 222 2222] for the information of PC Claire Gunn at Swanage.

Congratulations to swanage town council, nearly 5 years after pulling down the changing rooms at king georges playing fields and doing nothing about replacing them they produce a" PROGRESS REPORT" como,n council do you really think the people of this town are that "stupid" why can,t you be honest and say you cannot be bothered, or do your usual trick of getting someone else to do it for you and then take the credit like the skate park episode You ought to be ASHAMED of yourselves.

Store a bus?

Hi, Can anyone help Joe and Manny Atkins, who are off around the world with their family in June. They are travelling in a 1986 Leyland Tiger Coach, and are acting as a global educational resource. They are looking for somewhere to keep their bus from now until June, as the current site has become unsuitable. They need somewhere off road, with out buildings and electricity. Quite happy to pay (although not business rates.) If you can help: contact them at their website welcometotheworld.org.uk

Swanage Bay View Caravan Site

Has the "Milk Cow" run dry so quickly?
Is it true that our Council now wants to sell off the caravans they own on the Swanage Bay View site and then hand over the site to be managed by a Management Contractor on a 35 or 50 year lease?
Only last April the Mayor of Swanage, Cllr Tony Miller, stated that they were turning it into a "milk cow" for the people of Swanage. He hopes in 4 to 5 years time that it would earn "enough to do away with the Council Tax precept" He then went on to say "After many hours. in fact many days of intense scrutiny, and after considering the possibility of selling or leasing, it was decided that the best way forward would be to achieve five star rating for the park.
It seems after only six months they have given up the ghost. It seems now that by a unamimous decision they have decided to lease out the site.
This lot could not arrange a drinks party in a brewery!!
