Windjammers can tell you what is on the menu if you call them on 01929 421472. I dont have a copy in front of me, but does it really matter? This is a fundraiser not a gourmet evening. It is being organised by the Chamber of Trade so you could also phone its President, Brian Barker at Georgian Gems but you will need to look the number up.

"This is a fundraiser not a gourmet evening" You didn't make that clear. So why not just ask people to send in a fiver?
Ok if you are going to give me a choice of a slow roast joint, a brilliant venison pie, pan fried gurnard, ratatouille from local gardens, perhaps a portion of real chicken. I'll be there. If it's fake tapas forget it. IMHO

Send your fiver to Brian at Georgiam Gems if you don't fancy the tapas. Donations will be greatly appreciated even though he wanted to have something that was more than a whip round. I have to say I am a little surprised that anyone is concerned about the menu which seems to be a secondary matter. Can you suggest somewhere with dishes you think would get a better response so I can ask him to approach them if there is a next time.

The church in new Swanage used to get a fabulous Italian chef in to raise money and it was always packed. The URC has a girl in who cooks great simple food on Sundays for the congregation and other old folk. Maybe a hog roast in a pub back yard. Just thinking aloud.

Thanks for that I will pass it on.

It's easy to criticise, as is evident here.

Is it correct they are charging people to stay there if so they have just lost my support and many others i would guess.
It is a charity not a business.

I am a little surprised you have accepted something heard from a third party and drawn a conclusion rather than asking Heroes Haven what the position is. Since you have posted on here presumably you think we may all want to share your view so it would help us all if you would check it out with them and tell us what they say.

That's a big if.

As they say, if my auntie had bollocks...
