Allotments Still no progress
Why is it that Swanage Town Council are able to purchase and fund a planning application for a piece of agricultural land to extend the Godlingston cemetery, when they find it impossible to find a bit of land to meet the demand for allotments? (6/2011/0002)

As far as I know, I believe the Council already owns the land next to Godlingston cemetery — and it IS looking at a new site, beyond the recycling centre (which the Allotment Association apparently endorse).
As someone pointed out at the Greenhouse community garden meeting the other night, why not just turn Prospect Crescent grassed area bit into allotments and be done with it. Obtaining planning permission for a couple of nice houses where the greenhouse is now would more than pay for the works.
Why not ask this question during public participation time at the start of every STC meeting?
i got an allotment no probs whats the hassle ?
I know someone who ranted until they got there own allotment and then when they got one they went and moved out of Swanage and no longer use it.
