Swanage Town Council website

Looks like the Town Council have relaunched their website. It's been a while but at least it's up there and there does seem to be a massive amount of information! Compared to the last site!!

Isnt a council supposed to put new projects like this out to tender to get the best value ?

@10:31:

1. Do you know that it didn't?

2. Such rules usually depend on the value of the contract. Do you know how much it cost, of if the work was done 'pro bono'?

So far I have only spotted one mistake but I would advise festival organisers to check if their titles and dates are shown correctly as PAW Festival is wrong.

I can't spell to save my life but surely "Accomodation" under tourist information tab is inexcusable.

Looks OK, but I don't think the choice of colour for the font on the banner was a good one - not dark enough.

The images in the 'Gallery' were disappointing.

I clicked on the link for 'Market'. It doesn't say where the market's held.

'Mayoral Information' was blank.

Disappointed to see accommodation on the TIC page as accomodation.

The last menu option is for 'What's On' - but that takes you to the Tourist Info page.

Apart from all that, it's clear and informative - assuming the info's correct, of course!

It must be easier to update than the old one as it looks as though the majority of the things mentioned above appear to have been changed already, someone from the Town Council must be watching this blog!

The Council hasn't appointed a new mayor yet, so that page will no doubt be added after the meeting n Monday.

Perhaps that could have been posted on the site?

why does swanage need two car park attendants all year round. also why are driving around in brand new vans surely scooters would be suitable and cost effective. could you also post their job descriptions online as from what i have seen i would love to have a job where you can sit in a brand new van gazing out to sea, stop at the market and enjoy a cup of tea with your family and be the most offensive, rude and unhelpful as u like. If only we could bring back Mr Moore who seemed to be able to cope in the quieter months all by himself and very often on foot.
