In case you missed it..Swanage Advertiser today (17 Nov) has an ad '..inviting expressions of interest from individuals or a business to run our recently refurbished prestigious restaurant/function room (90 covers) and bar overlooking the Jurassic Coast and a further bar (with catering for 40 covers).... Did anyone mention a sum? Presumably, if someone's interested, they can make a pitch according to what it's worth to them...

You have to hand it to the town council. They run an number of businesses awned by the people of Swanage including the caravan site and they rent out a number of publically owned concessions with the aim of reducing the amount the public have to pay for their council services. However, it would be against the "public interest" for the public to be allowed into the meetings where the management and trading figures of their businesses are being discussed! Are the managers of any other type of business allowed to excude the owners like this?
