Michelle Goodman, Operations Manager, said: “We’re really excited about our action-packed Activity Day and are delighted that it launches a week of activities hosted by the schools in Purbeck.

“Activities start at 10.00am on the 8th, you can take part in as many as you want and they won’t cost a penny!”

Following an Olympic theme, there’s synchro swimming for 10 years and over (including adults), climbing, basketball, football, cricket and even a mini triathlon for 7 years and above.

If you need to brush up on your swimming skills, there are free lessons in the indoor pool between 1.30pm and 4.00pm, or why not try water polo at 11.45am or diving at 12.30pm.

Other activities include trampolining, badminton, sports for 2 to 5 year olds, netball and tennis.

The day finishes at 4.00pm and launches a week of sporting events in the district.

In order to guarantee a place, activities should be booked in advance. (There may be places on day if the activities are not fully booked.)

On Monday 9 July, the thirteen first schools compete in a wide range of events. Tuesday 10 July sees the arrival of the Purbeck Middle Schools event, giving students an opportunity to experience a host of new activities.

And on Wednesday 11 July, the Purbeck School will be running its own activity day based on a wide range of Olympic events.
