Bugger. Does this mean the secret's out that Swanage is a good place to live? Regardless of who you are or what you do. Perhaps it helps remind us that so-called celebs are ..real people with families who go for walks and take their kids to school and go the doctor. And maybe that those of us who are lucky enough to live here enjoy something that many others don't, despite their fame or celebrity.

Jeeeez! that is really scraping the bottom of the barrel!

I could never quite understand what ability he has? Indeed exactly what is he? A Presenter?

If that is the best they can come up with, I wondered why they bothered? For me; utterly talentless apart for the ablity not to be able to pronouce the Queens English.

Well, I don't think he would claim to be mahatma ghandi, alexander the great ,martin luther king and elvis all rolled into one - but hey, he seems a sharp, personable guy who hosts an inoffensive radio show, a sensible film programme and other stuff that entertains many of us. What do you mean by 'is that the best they can come up with'? I don't think he was brought here by the Council as some sort of tourist incentive

I quite agree with the above post. Does this dancing ledge guy like anything or anyone ? or does he think he is in some strange sci fi film where everything is related to his life.

Dancing Ledge, if you let me have your telephone number I'll get my P.A. to give you a call. We are thinking of doing a Saturday night with J.R. "meet my new neighbours" and you would be great on the show!
Regards,
Jonathan.

Just an opinion..I suppose it is OK to have opinions here?

What is a Celeb? a bloke that comes on telly and natters about films? Or runs a radio show? Is that a Celeb?

I thought that a Celeb was a person of at least some talent or other, like an Actor, or film star, or comedian, An MP even. Someone with some sort of talent?

Ok! if it upsets you, he is a Celeb. At least I know now, what your idea of a "Celeb" is.

Any chance of someone actually answering my original question?

In answer..I think it's just fine, all helps raise awareness of Swanage, which might lead to more people spending money here, and so maybe even to raising our standards and improving facilities and service for everyone

I must be missing something here. What exactly is the significance of Mr Ross having a house in Swanage? He has to live somewhere. Has he got two heads or something?

Dancing Ledge always makes it sound as if everything is controlled by some strange, malevolent power. Does he hear voices as well? A while ago he was boasting that his ancestors had lived in this locality for several centuries. Draw your own conclusions about how Swanage welcomes outsiders.

We as German speaking members of this town do welcome Herr Ross into our midst for promoting our language on his radio show so humorously and to venture bravely into the mindfields of German phonology and grammar. 'Gut gemacht '(well done) Herr Ross and keep on persevering. Your show is simply 'wunderbar'. Frau Schmidt

I am surprised that Mr Ross would want to come to Swanage when he has to read the purile crap of Robyn Brasher in the local paper if anyone remembers Miss beamish who famously wrote crap in the swanage times many years ago then I can only assume that Mr Brasher was in some way related. Please Mr Ross we are not all sad old gits living in the past and Mr Brasher is an incomer not representertive of Swanage people at all We wellcone you and if nothing else hope you will be good for opening a few charitable events
