Will Red Arrows show?

ALL RAF Hawk aircraft – the model used by the Red Arrows – have been grounded due to safety fears.
The training planes were stopped from flying when engineers detected a fault with the ejector seat on one of the craft. It is not known how long the inspection will take or how it will impact on the team's schedule.

Whoah! Shame - I'd rather they didnt fly over my house if there is some danger though.

How much, these days, does it cost Swanage Carnival to send these planes up in the sky.

A few years ago the organser of the red arrows expected that every person entering Swanage should be made to pay £10 and this same person complained because the council would not put up their parking prices! This organisers views were challenged at a meeting but this carnival members concerns were ignored. The organiser of this event seemed to forget that people could take to the hills and pay nothing, or that they may be visiting their auntie !!! The carnival losses were extreme that year, not helped by the treasurer who deceived the carnival of thousands of pounds.

The Red Arrows are amazing but in this current economic climate could the funds for this expensive display be put to better use ?

The RAF/MoD Red Arrows 'News Update' website mentions nothing about a problem. Me thinks its a Southern Press (Echo ploy to sell more newspapers.

Amazing what can be learnt in seconds with internet access. Just gave The Red Arrows chap a call. All Hawk aircraft are currently grounded, no information regarding future flights available.

I knew a few years back it was costing the carnival organisers well over £10k to have the Red Arrows out.

ORGANISERS of this year’s Lowestoft Seafront Air Festival are on cloud nine today after their top of the bill display, the Red Arrows, were cleared to fly after being grounded for several days.

1. The temporary flight ban on the Hawks has now been lifted so the Reds should be here on Saturday: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-lincolnshire-10871330

2. I think you'll find that the cost of the display in Swanage is met by local private sponsors.

Let's admire the RAF's finest!

Absolutely, they are a wonderful team performing an awe enspiring display. The red devils were good too last night and better still the town was packed to see them. Local businesses must have received a real boost this week. Well done to the Carnival organising committee for making the town come alive. The RNLI too are doing a grand job with their programme of events this month.

The Red Arrows display did go ahead today - Saturday 7th August - although the clouds prevented them from performing their full display. So no 'love heart' this year. Never mind, they were still enjoyed by thousands of locals and grockles alike. Hope they come back in 2011!

They will come back if the people who watched put up some change in the buckets.

Bet most old Swanagers kept their coins in their pockets - miserable old s@ds!!
