Grit on the roads

Does anyone know if swanage council have been supplied with any grit for the roads to help with the ice and snow? None of the side roads in the town are being cleared !

I understand that DCC was supposed to deliver 20 tons some weeks ago. but failed to do so; hence the Town Council had no supplies and was unable to grit roads.

Same as last year, main road clear but side roads are horrendous and people are having difficulty getting onto the main road.

Doing what we can ourselves, but it would be great if grit could be dropped off by 4 x 4's.

Once again, Swanage draws the short straw............

Why not use sand from the beach?

Other councils put the delivery of grit to bins by sideroads out to contract. A lesson maybe?

The Town Council did clear and grit at least some of the side roads during the previous snowfall in early December. I'm right at the top of Benlease and my road was done. Nothing this week - although most of the snow had gone by mid Monday morning

Use the beach sand ................we paid 10 million to have it put on there , least it would get used during the winter months.
