Panorama Rd recycling centre

Title: Closure of the current rubbish tip

Does anyone else think it would be better to use the current rubbish tip site as a car park for visitors and locals to use to park and walk along the coastline and enjoy the countryside rather than just filling it all in and fencing it off like the old tip was when that was closed?

All they would have to do is remove the fencing and the rubbish containers to turn it into a car park.

This is something that the Town Council has been thinking about for some time. There were also plans at one time to open up one of nearby quarries as a place to show the geological structure of the area, otherwise only visible from the sea. Watch this space.

Nice idea, until it is discovered by 'doggers' or whatever those strange people are called.

Such positivity!

A working quarry would be a brilliant idea.

The idea wasn't for a working quarry (there are plenty of those around), but to make some sort of viewing area to show the geology..

whats wrong with doggers ? i`m a dogger i`ve got a Springer Spaniel called Jack and he loves it around that area what with all those rabbits.
I think the car park up there is a really good idea but guess it wouldnt be free.
Is it Swanage TC that would get any revenue or that shower at Dorch.?

Sorry should have been clearer - a working quarry is not too original, but showing geology isn't either - both are niche markets.

Combine the two to show how we were shaped by our geology and then how we used the same, might be a bit more attractive.

Doggers? Is that really an issue for someone? Is it a problem in swanage? Does it even happen? Stop being so cynical and grow up.

Doggers don't need Swanage...thems got the dunes at up Studland.
