Swanage cyclist killed , driver pleads guilty.

Thoughts go out to his family as the legal side continues , at a time of the year when he will be especially missed by family and the cycling community :(

Any loss in life is sad, and my thoughts go out to the familys involved in this tragic R.T.I (Road Traffic Incident).

It might now be time to take the ghost bike away - I gather that it upsets the family to go past it - particularly his daughter....

They serve as reminders of the tragedy that took place on our roads, and as quiet statements in support of cyclists' right to safe travel.

Surely the families wishes are paramount?

Anonymous: I have been told exactly the opposite by the family. They know where to find me, and it would be removed instantly if asked. The Highways department and Wareham Town Council are also aware of who to contact.

And to be damned blunt... it’s not the bike that upsets people, its having your friend, father or husband killed that is upsetting.

The bike serves as gentle reminder of Rob, a celebration of his passion, but also reminds everyone to drive carefully... and that is really worth something.
