Traffic wardens

As usual our friendly traffic wardens were doing their duty, but why oh why always on a Bank Holiday, I saw 2 of them from where I work in town busily writng in their books and slapping on the tickets. It doesnt encourage people to return to our lovely town.

Are you serious? I have never seen one, and was quite convinced that they were a figment of someones imagination.

What I do see is fit people parking in the disabled ares along with builders and window cleaners vans.

Are you sure it was a traffic warden? I ask, because I not convinced that they really do exist.

I heard that they had been privatised. that alone should ensure we shall not see much of them, if at all.

For me, they are rather like legends, fairys, and Hobgoblins, one never sees one... but they are reputed to be "real"
Dancing Ledge.

Perhaps the wardens are concealed from Dancing Ledge's gaze by the mass of grockles but there are here all the same. Their modus operandi seems to be to arrive mid morning in a small white van, park in DeMoulham Road and stroll round the town for a couple of hours. One was sighted in the afternoon this week so they are getting more prevalent. It would seem the mayor asked for the frequency of their visits to be increased so that more people can have theri welcome to Dorset notes put on their cars. As they are privatised they have to cover their costs by slpping tickets pn everything they can regardless of whether there is any traffic congestion or not. Beats me why they go round in pairs though. Moral support I suppose.

Anybody in favour of charging for on street parking. Why should several thousand visitors a day have free parking while they are on the beach? This could be a good little earner.

What is wrong with you lot? The only people who should be charged for car parking in Swanage are the locals. Walk in and get fit! Leave the spaces for the tourists. 50p per/hour seems about OK for less able people. Anyone from OUTSIDE Swanage should get free car parking. If too many people come then limit the numbers. If far too many people come then allow parking only for overnight customers, restaurant goers and early bookers.
