At a recent, poorly attended, meeting set up for voters to meet the Conservative P.P.C. I was interested to learn that the views of Mr. Drax are to the right of Tory thinking, very much anti Europe and mostly sceptical about Global Warming, this much to the delight of one member of the audience who was clearly a Flat Earther. It is not surprising, I suppose, as the Tories have come very late onto the Environmental scene.

He must be out of step with his leader as David Cameron has [strangely I admit] claimed that ‘There’s barely a cigarette paper between us’ - the Tories and the Lib Dems. Let us remember that the Lib Dems have been fighting for action on the environment for very many years and there is a mountain of differences on many subjects between us and the views of such as Mr.Drax.

On the burning issue of the schools in Swanage Mr. Drax said that because of the national financial situation, the County Council is unlikely to progress the schools review. It was however pointed out to him that the money is already budgeted for in the education budget, but it might be switched around within education funding

It would appear that he is well out of step ... where do they get them from?
