Wool Relief Road?

I heard from a friend that there is to be a bypass built by Wool now - is this true, and what will be the environmental impact for us?

This has been on the cards for sometime. They're hoping to route West bound traffic from the Bakers Arms up to Bere Regis, then down to Wool by widening the C6; where it'll join the Wool bypass.

The Sandford bypass is still talked about as well.

As for the environmental impact? Do you mean the impact that a bypass will have on Wools 2 petrol stations? Or do you mean the impact it will have on Monkey World and the Tank Museum as they become even more accessible? Or do you mean the impact on the wildlife who’ve had nothing more serious than blinkin' great tanks trundling over their homes and/or using them for target practice! Or do you mean how the NE corner of Purbeck should see much less traffic?

3.46: That's rather a good summary of areas of environmental impact. Good work!

Support the tank huggers!

Tank huggers *like it*

I was thinking about the impact upon the enviroment when they move the 'hells kitchen' currently on the outskirts of Weymouth to the area arround Wool, and then the impact of all the extra traffic.

Unfortunately they were allowed too much time in Weymouth before 'swampy' types arrived to chain themselves to the trees. Hopefully they'll be a little more in advance for these 2!

Thanks for the PDF link - I'll have a read.

It's not too often that I stand up for DCC, but on the whole, I think that they're right in this case. (That should make them sleep well!)

Going right back to the Upton bypass I think that now I can see the overall plan. Get people travelling thru' Dorset to use the A35, and ease Weymouth by doing the above.

The Weymouth bypass is, I think, Olympic motivated; and for people like me who love the Dorch, Weym, Bridport triangle it must be good.
