Boo hoo - apparently it's everybody's fault except the lady who had the drugs. Sounds as though the council has good grounds to deny the licence (which can be reinstated at a later date. Think of it as a probationary period.).

I suggest she apologize to her parents for dragging them into this.

First they were made to take down all the signage, then they had the best bar in Town open opposite them, subsequently a quite reasonable request to turn the pub into two shops and flats was refused. Some people get all the bad luck.

I agree that bad things happen, and I commiserate with the things you describe.

But drug possession didn't 'happen' to them - their daughter chose to do this while on a licenced premise, and her chosen actions have caused this reaction. She should accept her mistake, take the punishment and apologise for dragging her parents into this. Don't appeal it - work through it. The sooner reality is accepted, the sooner the healing can begin.

Thing that gets me is that we paid for these raids through our council tax. And look what these folk have got a few hours free labour and a fine. For christs sake , dont give a great message accross really does it. So much for that saying crime dont pay , well it does now. These folk who have been busted should be locked up for a while.

I agree, David - the irony is, we would pay to have her locked up, too!

Sometimes those who play by the rules are the ones who get shafter!

What a smart idea. Lock up people convicted of possession with all the proper drug dealers, thieves etc and see what they can learn from them.

Or we do what some people in a town in Ireland did to some drug dealer. Tar and feather them. thou bit harsh . But as for the free labour I hope they get to where a yellow vest style thing saying what they are on it.

When you see the hysterical nonsense expressed in this discussion you can see why the government felt it had to ignore the scientific fact that there is no good reason for cannabis to be banned and pander to these people. Unfortunately we have a culture that rewards striking a tough posture by anyone from the PM down. Whats going on? Has Mr Brain taken a winter break?

I think the previous poster was under the influence of something - if only his own delusion!

Silly women, no wonder the husband left. what a great pub it could have been, just look at the location. I noticed the windows have been whited out. When Brian and Margaret ran the show it was a great pub albeit a bit grubby but definitely a licence to print money.
How easy it is to lose everything.
Give it to Mick Storer and let's see what happens! He won't get change of use though, because any plans Mick submits to the PDC or DCC will be rejected as we have all seen in the past.
