Glad to be in Swanage!

The last few days have made me realise that Spring has sprung. What a wonderland we live in, To see the world start to come alive once more, is a joy, and no less than that. What makes it even better, is the great good fortune of being born in this most beautiful area by the name of Swanage. I do count myself as lucky, for this is Gods own Country.Dancing Ledge

Yes it's quite a wonderful world altogether, but I have to ask is this God you refer to the same as the one who made day and night before the sun and moon, made woman out of a spare rib, then flooded the world before hiding in a burning bush, turning a woman into a pillar of salt, and asking a man to kill his own son as a show of faith? If so, let's hope he hasn't any similar plans for Purbeck, as the council, chavs, boy racers and dog foulers are quite enough to take the edge off the wondrous nature that you refer to - without additional divine assistance, thank you Mr Ledge.

I have no particular God, it is just a descriptive term, What made me write that? just that the sun was shining and Swanage is place that wants some beating, there were not to many grockles here...That was pleasant in itself!

When one looks at the number of folk that come here to live there must be something about the place.

The alternative...London YUK! or any other great city..YUK

My family have been here for at least 500 years, so I do have a deep affection for the beat up and dowdy old place.

You really must try to get out of town a bit more. Theres a whole world out there.

The grockles think its a wonderful place too - thats why they keep coming back.

I have been outside the town, far and wide, I have already seen the whole world out there!

But I am always glad to come home to this scruffy old place.
