End of the road?

Often I hear from the womenfolk that what the two big stores offer here is. "End of the road goods" In other words, the best of everything has been taken long before the end of road to Swanage is reached. That seems to be even more apparent, when it comes to things like new spuds, Where are the new spuds we used to get? the ones we see now are no better than the old ones, and cost a damn sight more.We all look forward to the first new spuds with butter salt and mint, This year...YUK.Dancing Ledge.

Why, are there still fish being landed here? Surely not? What kind of fish? And who is the local fishermen.

Prewar there were Herrings landed here, can you imagine that today? it seems to me that the bay is just sbout empty of all living things.
